Plumb is plumb -- and out of plumb is out of plumb. Until Jim Peterman and No Problem Builders lifted and leveled the NE corner of the house, the floor joists sat on this make-shift 4 x 6 beam system exactly as it's seen here that was installed sometime in the 1970's. This photo shows just how high the house needed to be lifted before new brick piers could be put in place. When No Problem Builders broke away the concrete block below the sills around the perimeter of the house, they found no concrete foundation. This meant that as the concrete blocks sank, the house sank with it. Had this condition been left unchecked, the movement would have eventually twisted the house and pulled it down.
